As an Egg Harbor Township Crew Member,
you are to act as young adults, under no
circumstances will mis-behavior or mis-conduct
be tolerated.
All school rules apply on this trip and school
policy will be enforced.
During the trip, the way you will be treated
will be in direct proportion to the way you act.
Departure
The bus will leave at the scheduled time.
Bus Conduct
Proper conduct is expected. For safety reasons,
everyone on the buses must remain seated during
the trip unless you’re going to the bathroom.
Keep it clean. The buses will have trash bags
which can be tossed at each rest stop.
No Boom Boxes. I-pod’s etc are ok. If you bring
a boom box it will be confiscated. Anything
larger than a book will be considered a Boom Box
Hotel
Damage—If there is any damage to the
rooms, the people assigned to that room, or
their parents, will have to pay the damages. If
you have guests over, you’re responsible. If
you’re out of the room and somebody else damages
it, you’re responsible. (YOU can work it out
with them). Under no circumstances are you to
switch rooms Stay in the room you’re assigned to
and protect it. NO EXCEPTIONS
Noise—We’re not the only people staying
at the hotel. Respect others needs: don’t shout,
bang on the walls, run in the halls or play your
music or TV loud.
Under no circumstances will inappropriate
language to be used or tolerated.
Cleanliness--Maids won’t clean rooms with
clothes & stuff all over the place. Four of you
are going to be living out of that room for 3
days. Put you belongings away in the drawers,
closets or your suit cases.
Money and personal belongings--Not every
meal or expense is included in the money you’ve
paid in advance for the trip. You’ll need to
bring additional money with you. PLEASE BE
CAREFUL! Keep your room locked. Don’t leave your
stuff lying around. Keep money and other
valuable items in a secure place!
Attire--You must be appropriately attired
in the hotel. That means you must have clothes
on and no running around in your boxers or bed
time apparel.
Attire during races: all crew members
will where team uniforms and have a EHT Crew
logo related jacket, sweatshirt , sweatpants,
t-shirt or shorts. You are going as a team,
dress and reflect your selves as a team both on
land and on the water.
Remember, the goal of this trip is for you to be
in peak performance to compete. If you stay up
late, don’t get enough sleep, don’t eat right or
expend your energy doing other things, you’re
giving an edge to the competition.
Room charges
The room is paid for. If you want to make
outgoing calls, order food, rent a movie, etc.
you will have to leave a credit card number for
billing with the front desk.
If you don’t make the cut
Preliminaries and some semi final elimination
races will take place on Friday. If your boat
does not qualify to the next level, you will be
told what you’ll be doing on Saturday. This will
probably include spending time at the race venue
during the races cheering your teammates on.
Bring a book, video games. etc
Respect Chaperones
These parents have volunteered their time to
make sure you have a safe and successful
competition. Any request that is made upon you
from your chaperones, you are to act in
accordance with that request. DO NOT PLACE YOUR
CHAPERONES OR TRAVELLING TEAM PARENT IN A
POSITION TO ASK YOU TWICE AND MORE IMPORTANTLY,
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES DO YOU QUESTION THEIR
AUTHORITY
School Zero Tolerance Policy
You know the school has a zero tolerance policy
for drugs & alcohol. The official policy during
trips requires that any student caught in
violation of this rule be turned over to the
local authorities (police). The student will be
charged and held (probably in a cell) until a
parent arrives to post bail and pick them up.
You and your parent will have to make a return
trip to Tennessee, probably hire a local lawyer
and answer to any charges filed against you. For
all the clever people who think they know what
the penalties and limitations of NJ law are, you
won’t be in Jersey. The rules change once you go
over the state line.
We’re all in this together
Every act by an individual or small group
reflects back on the team and chaperones. Our
reputation and the good standing of the team is
what you leave behind when you’re gone.
Acknowledgement
I have read and understand the Road Rules for
the SRAA rowing championship and agree to abide
by them. Failing to abide by the rules will
result in disciplinary action
